Rhonda Taylor Steps Down as CEO of Career Trek After 7 Years of Transformative Leadership.

Career Treks bids a heartfelt farewell to former CEO

During her tenure, Rhonda has demonstrated unwavering dedication, vision, and leadership. Under her guidance, Career Trek raised nearly $1 million in a 3-year span to expand programs that empower thousands of young Manitobans, particularly those from underrepresented and underserved communities with meaningful, hands-on career exploration experiences that promote educational attainment and self-empowerment.

Rhonda’s  leadership was transformative. She brought Career Trek’s programs to rural communities in Western and Northern Manitoba, and spearheaded innovative initiatives like our Career Education Summer Camps. She also advocated to change what was formerly called the MPower Program to Empowering Parents, with the objective of inclusivity.

She successfully led the organization through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, ensuring programming continued with minimal disruption by adapting service delivery to meet emerging needs.

A passionate advocate for Truth and Reconciliation, working with Indigenous Elders and Knowledge Keepers, Rhonda embedded Indigenous perspectives into Career Trek’s curriculum and partnerships, while championing Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging across all levels of the organization. Her commitment to fair and equitable policies has helped build a workplace where staff feel valued and respected.

Rhonda’s impact on Manitoba’s youth, education system, and community development landscape has been both deep and lasting.

On behalf of the Board, staff, and community partners, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to Rhonda for her remarkable leadership and profound contributions. She leaves behind a strong foundation that will continue to benefit young people and families across Manitoba for years to come.

I want to thank everyone who has walked with me, supported me, challenged me, and gave me the space to lead the organization in a direction that was done with the best of intentions to create a just and equitable tomorrow.
